On October 15th I again participated in the now 3rd Annual Park to Port Bike Ride (#parktoport). This ride began 3 years ago to celebrate the centennial anniversary of the Port of Houston (#POH) and the centennial anniversary of Hermann Park which coincided on the same year (2013)! The ride begins at the Bill Coates Bridge (in the background) just down the road from the Houston Zoo, and winds 10 miles along our bayous taking us straight out to Brady’s Landing which rests on the edge of the Houston Ship Channel, 20 mile round trip ride. The weather was a little warm for October (welcome to Houston!), but it was still a really nice ride! Special thanks to my little (but much taller!) brother for joining me! I really enjoyed the bike ride that celebrates two things I value about Houston, our amazing port system that links us to all kinds of trade and makes us an invaluable port city and our great parks like Hermann park!
