ISO Tank Container
Tank containers are used for transporting both hazardous and non-hazardous bulk liquids and chemicals internationally and domestically. They are stainless steel containers with capacities up to 26,000L (6,868 gallons), typically insulated to help maintain product temperatures. They can be outfitted with both heating and cooling elements again for temperature control of products. Some examples of products shipped in tank containers are chemicals for agricultural uses, perishable food grade items, alcohol, diesel, and more. The stainless steel construction of the barrel resists corrosion for most products. The ISO tank is protected by its 20 ft. ISO frame; therefore, rendering a long lifespan for this type of container. It can be classisfied as a much greener alternative to single use flexi bags and plastic totes.
ISO tank containers can also be used to transport pressurized gases in special T50 designated tanks. The pressure ratings for these vessels can range from 22 bar and higher to satisfy the requirements for transporting gases under pressure.
These used ISO tank containers can be placed on a ship for overseas shipping, the railroads as an efficient mode of cross country transport, or on a container chassis hauled by an an 18 wheeler tractor over the road OTR.
